Mycobacterium rhodesiae is rapid growing mycobacteria (RGM) associated with rare cases of peritonitis (Curry et al., 2008). The genome is reported to have a high GC content of around 65.5 % (http://img.jgi.doe.gov/cgi-bin/w/main.cgi) and is also involved in PAH degradation pathway. The genome was sequenced at the DOE Joint Genome Institute.
