Mycobacterium intracellulare MOTT-64


Mycobacterium intracellulare MOTT-64 is an opportunistic human pathogen belonging to the INT1 genotype of M. intracellulare (Kim et al., 2012b). The strain has often been reported from S. Korea and is associated with pulmonary infection and tuberculosis like complications (Kim et al., 2012b). The strain is a member of Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC). The genome has a high GC content of around 68% and was sequenced at the Asan medical center, Seoul, Korea (http://img.jgi.doe.gov/cgi-bin/w/main.cgi).
