Mycobacterium tuberculosis KZN 4207 (DS)

Mycobacterium tuberculosis KZN 4207 (DS) is a drug-sensitive strain of M. tuberculosis isolated from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa (KZN strains) (Das et al., 2009). The genome was sequenced at Broad Insitute and has a characteristic high GC content of 65.62%% (http://img.jgi.doe.gov/cgi-bin/w/main.cgi). Comparative study of this drug sensitive strain with its drug resistant counterparts and other M.tuberculosis strains is a subject of profound interest.
